Kangerlussuaq Museum displays a number of original interiors from the settlement’s time as an American air base. These include the outer office of Base Headquarters from where the American first sergeant coordinated visits to the Base Commander, whose office has also remained intact. The American conference room is similarly worth a visit; it is now used for various talks and events. Here is also a chance to see the famous sign proclaiming that:
Sondrestrom is a nice place to live.
By order of the Base Commander.
Interiors from the Danish Liaison Office have also been preserved and the many different tasks which fell under the DLO are illustrated in text and image.
