Guidelines for Sisimiut and Kangerlussuaq Museum
• The museum's opening hours should - as a starting point - be respected. Summer opening hours start from 1 June to 30 September. Winter opening hours start from 1 October. up to and including 31 May. Visits outside normal opening hours after pre-booking are DKK 200 per person pr. started hour between 8.00- 16.00 on weekdays. DKK 400 after 16.00 on weekdays and weekends. You must contact the museum at sismus@qeqqata.gl to arrange a special opening.
• Sisimiut and Kangerlussuaq Museum must have received a request for a visit from operators with a maximum number of pax no later than 1 week before the visit. The tourist actors' wish to visit must be sent to the museum's administration's email sismus@qeqqata.gl / or the museum manager's email doko@qeqqata.gl with a clear description of the maximum number of people and, as far as possible, notify cancellations or changes for the sake of the museum's employees no later than 24 hours in advance.
• Toilets are only available to paying museum guests. If you need to use the toilet in B23, it costs DKK 5 per person. Others are directed to use other "public" toilets in the city center.
• Unless otherwise stated, the museum's objects may not be touched.
• The museum's touchscreen, TV or iPads are not toys and are used as part of the presentation.
• No photos/live images may be taken for commercial use or personal marketing in a political or professional context due to data security.
• In addition, the individual images may not be photographed for reasons of copyright.
• Out of consideration for other visitors to the museum as well as the Personal Data Act, professional production companies, advertising agencies or photographers who wish to use the museum as a location must contact museum managers by sending a request for permission via e-mail. This also applies to people who want to use the museum (indoors) by taking wedding or fashion photos. Exhibitions and objects may NOT be photographed - unless you have made an agreement with the museum.
• Food and drink may not be enjoyed in the museum, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
• Dogs and other pets may not be included for the sake of the museum's other guests.
• Spiked shoes are not permitted in the exhibition buildings.
• No smoking in the museum area. It is not permitted to have an open fire in the museum area unless an agreement has been made with the Fire Brigade to hold a special event in the museum area.
• Theft, vandalism or threatening behavior will result in immediate permanent expulsion, police action and compensation claims. The employees' instructions must be followed and possibly expulsion may occur without prior warning.
• The museum's visitor capacity in Sisimiut is limited and the number of visitors at one time is set to 167 people spread over 7 buildings, where, in agreement with the Fire Service, e.g. can be 50 people in Bethel Church, to protect listed buildings and museum objects, as the rooms are small. Other exhibition buildings such as B23 are only allowed to have 30 guests in the building at one time.
