Sisimiut and Kangerlussuaq Museum is an accredited museum working in accordance with: Inatsisartutlov nr. 8 af 3. juni 2015 om museumsvæsen. 

The archival system is done in accordancewith Inatsisartutlov nr. 5 af 3. juni af 2015 om arkivvæsen.

The museum also follows Inatsisartutlov nr. 11 af 19. maj 2010 om fredning og anden kulturarvsbeskyttelse af kulturminder on the matter of conservation and protection of cultural heritage.
